Very few people set out into life knowing exactly where they're going and how they'll get there. These are usually the ones who love fire trucks or space when they are kids and end up becoming firemen and astronauts. Most of us might have great visions for how we see our lives developing but the unexpected twists and turns often lead us astray from our intended destinations. I started thinking about how every one has these different paths through life. Some of us begin slowly and others are off and running immediately. I began to have this image of us as millions of spiders casting thread into a darkness without knowing when or where the threads might anchor. Since all the threads would attach in different places and at different times the spiders would act reactively and build webs from what they were given. When the webs were formed there would be millions of different sizes and shapes and stories for each one.
